Though very little hope had been entertained for her improvement, the news of her death was a sad blow to her relatives, her life-long friends, and neighbors, who realize that they have lost from their midst one whose place can never be filled. For some years past Mrs. Blazek had been in very poor health, sometimes improving, sometimes apparently well; but at no time did she entertain the expectation of normal health or long life. For this reason her later years have been chiefly devoted to preparing her children for the time when they should have no mother's hand to guide them; and in this loving service her own troubles were forgotten. To be spared until her children had passed childhood was all that she asked, and this was permitted to her, so it was with the realization of a task well done that she answered the final call. Though it would have been excusable if she had considered that her family and home required all of her strength and time, yet Stella found it possible to be a good neighbor, a kind friend to both old and young, and a real social influence in community and social affairs. No call for service ever found her shielding herself by pleading ill-health; but rather, in trouble of sorrow among her neighbors she was the first to give practical aid as well as spiritual help. There is little to be said which will be of comfort to the immediate circle of relatives and friends who see taken from their midst one who was so eminently capable of filling her position, and who was so well loved. But to those grief-stricken ones is offered the deepest and most heartfelt sympathy of the community, and the assurance that in the thoughts of all who knew Stella will be cherished the remembrance of a true and noble character, which enabled its owner to plan and achieve, in her short span of years, as complete a lifetime of service as if her life had been long. Stella Nellie Kralik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kralik, was born near Orient, Iowa on October 9, 1893 and died at Greater Community Hospital at Creston June 7th, 1930, after a long illness. At the time of her death she was thirty-eight years of age. On September 13, 1911, she was united in marriage to Edward F. Blazek. To this union were born three children of whom the youngest, Ethel, died in infancy. There remain Gladys, age seventeen, and Ernest, aged fifteen, who with their father are left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother and wife. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Blasek leaves her aged father, Frank Kralik, of Cromwell; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Conlon, of Omaha; Mrs. Herman Jandrey, of Creston; Mrs. Bessie Freeman and Mrs. Ada Burich, of Williamson vicinity; three brothers, Edward William and Frank, all of Cromwell, many other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Williamson Hall by Rev. C. T. Halbert of the Congregational church of Cromwell. A choir from Cromwell beautifully rendered the following selections which had been especially requested by the deceased lady, "Going Down The Valley," "When You're Gone I Won't Forget You," and "Rock of Ages." The immensity of the crowd of friends who gathered to pay their last devotions to Mrs. Blazek testified to the esteem in which both she and her family are held, as did also many beautiful floral tokens. Interment was made in the Bohemian cemetery near here, where the Z. C. B. J. Lodge had charge of the services. Sincerest sympathy is offered to all the sorrowing relatives.
