Description	:	Ernest G. Bergman, 93, entered his Heavenly home on Friday, March 7, 2008. Ernie was born Sept 11, 1914, in Tipton County to Fred and Mary (Bauer) Bergman. On Aug. 5, 1979, he married his lovely wife, Glenice G. Steinmann, and she survives. Ernie was a lifelong resident and farmer of Tipton County. Bergman, 93, entered his Heavenly home on Friday, March 7, 2008. Ernie was born Sept 11, 1914, in Tipton County to Fred and Mary (Bauer) Bergman. On Aug. 5, 1979, he married his lovely wife, Glenice G. Steinmann, and she survives. Ernie was a lifelong resident and farmer of Tipton County. He enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends, gardening and working outdoors. After retiring, he continued to help out family with planting and harvesting. Ernie had a passion for sports. He especially loved watching the Chicago Cubs, Indiana Hoosiers and his favorite hometown boys basketball team, the Tipton Blue Devils. He was a season ticket holder for over 60 years. Ernie was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Ernie is survived by his children, daughters, Phyllis Kay and son-in-law Buzz Kellay and Melissa Rae Bergman, and son, Douglas Kent Bergman, all of Maryland; his long awaited grandchildren that he adored, Zachary Hunter, 4, and Alyssa Marie, 2, of Maryland; sisters, Geneva Thrasher and Edith Hudson, both of Kokomo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Eunie Stafford, Tipton; and several nieces and nephews. Ernie was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ester Marie (Shaekel) Bergman on Sept 27, 1977; sister, Mildred Dunn; and brother, Charles Bergman. Funeral services are 10 am Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Tipton, with Pastor Kurt Gremel officiating. Family and friends may call 4 to 8 pm. today at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Tipton High School Athletics Department Services are being arranged by Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home.
