Description	:	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," February 18, 1959: E.H. Dimmitt Dies; A Retired Farmer Ernest H. Dimmitt, 69, of 233 West Woodland Avenue, died at 12:50 a.m. today at his home. A retired farmer, he had been in failing health for some time. He was born October 11, 1889, in Dahlonega Township, the son of William H. and Clara Bell Miller Dimmitt. He lived most of his life in the Dahlonega community, retiring from the farm in 1951. Mr. Dimmitt was married October 30, 1912, to Grace Moyer, who died in 1923. Mr. Dimmitt was married October 30, 1912, to Grace Moyer, who died in 1923. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Belle Dale of Ottumwa Route 7, Mrs. Audrey Gibson of Des Moines and Mrs. Margaret Pettit of Ottumwa; a son, Frederick Dimmitt of Azusa, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Dimmitt of Ottumwa. A brother also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl McGinness, pastor of the Agency Methodist Church, in charge. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
