Description	:	The top picture on the right is of William Henry with his wife, Clara Belle (Miller) Dimmitt. This picture was copied from the original tin-type, and I believe that it was taken on the day of their wedding, March 3, 1878. The bottom picture is of William Henry when he was a little older. There is an article on William H. Dimmitt with later pictures of him and Clara, on Pages 614-617 of "History of Wapello County, Iowa and Representative Citizens," edited and compiled by Capt. S.B. Obituary from "Ottumwa Courier," February 20, 1939: W.H. DIMMITT OF DAHLONEGA DIES 87-Year-Old Native Had Spent Life Within One Mile Of His Farm Birthplace. W.H. Dimmitt, 87 died at his home in Dahlonega Township today at 9:30 a.m. He was a lifetime resident of Dahlonega Township. Mr. Dimmitt was born June 22, 1851 in Dahlonega Township, the son of William and Matilda Padgett Dimmitt. He spent his entire life within a mile of his birthplace. He was maried March 3, 1878 to Clara Belle Miller. The couple settled on the farm on which Mr. Dimmitt died. Surviving are three children, Norman, Irene and Ernest, all of Ottumwa Route 7; four granddaughters, and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife December 22, 1910. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Lester Jay Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. C.A. Field. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
