Read More	Ernest Leo Coombs, Jr., 71 of Great Mills, MD died at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Born in Great Mills, MD,. he was the son of the late Ernest Leo Coombs, Sr. and Ruth Hammett Coombs. A life long resident of St. Mary's County, Mr. Coombs was a member of the Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956 receiving an honorable discharge. In 1956 he went to work at the family business Coombs Service Station in Great Mills, MD where he worked until 1986. Mr. Coombs was a member of the American Legion, Solomon's Island Post, and the VFW, California, MD. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Vito Coombs whom he married on July 14, 1956 in Newton, MA, three daughters, a son, a sister Patricia Ruth Thompson, and two brothers, Thomas "Terry" Coombs, and William R. Coombs, and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents a sister, Mary Lou Guy and a brother, Joseph Ronald Coombs, preceded him in death. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with The Reverend Kevin O?Reilly as the Celebrant. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Coombs were Bo Thompson, Jay Guy, Elmer Jordan, Danny Aud, David Aud, and Doug Aud. Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Skrabacz, Danny Fenzau and Brad Young. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Arrangements provided by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A.
