The funeral will be held from the Methodist church. ====================== Chester Herald (Chester, NE), Friday, January 20, 1905; pg. 5 ESTER (sic) A. (RIEKE) GEORGE. Esther A. Rieke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Rieke, was born in Lake county (sic), Illinois, November 27, 1874, and came to Nebraska, eighteen years ago, and married Philo J. George February 9, 1893, and the fruit of this union was four children, two boys and two girls, all of whom, together with the father, parents, seven sisters and four brothers, survive her. She died Tuesday morning, January 17, 1895 (sic), at the age of 30 years, 1 month and 18 days. The cause of her death was heart failure, to which she has been subjected for a number of years. The funeral was held in the Methodist church, on Thursday, January 19, at 12 o'clock, the funeral cortege moving from the home, three miles south of Byron, under escort of a delegation from Byron Camp No. 1926, Modern Woodmen of of (sic) American, of which Mr. George was a member, with George Stewart, W.A. Davidson, K.P. Herald, Paul Wurl, Clarence Bennett and L.I. Swaney as pall bearers, accompanied by a host of neighbors and friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.M. Furman, after which the line of march was again taken up and continued unto the Chester cemetery (sic) where the remains were consigned by the narrow homb (sic), while the soul, freed from its tenement of clay, wings its flight to that home not made with hands, eternal and in the heavens. This case excites intense sympathy. A father left with four small children. George, last week, the types made us say that the lady died in 1895, when they ought to have said, 1905.
