She had resided at the Heritage Arces Nursing Home in Hardin the last 13 years due to complications of a stroke. Even though she was disabled, her mind was alway bright and witty. She enjoyed family gatherings and vivisting with friends old and new. Mom kept her wonderful sense of humore and always enjoyed a good joke. Mom was an excellant cook and we will always remember her delicious candies she made. especially at Christmas time. Esther was born on July 4, 1921, a daughter of George and Mollie Groskop Dumler in Haigville, NE. She moved to Montana in 1930 with her parents and two brothers. She married Harold Potts May 18, 1940, in Red Lodge, MT. They made their home in Custer where they raised four children. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years. who passed away Jan, 4, 1996; and two brothers, Herman and George Dumler. She is survived by four children, Sharon Engle (Jerry) of Whitehall, MT., Dennis (Virginia) Potts of Sheridan, WY.; Linda Slattery of Hardin, MT.; Loretta Davis (Chuck) of Hardin, MT,; Eight grandchildren, J.D. (Deb) Engle, of Bozeman, MT., Lisa (J.W.) Eiler of Billings, MT., Lori (Armando) Valdez of Savannah, GA., Leann (Michael) Gilberg and Ivy Slattery, both of Bosie, ID., Steven Davis, Denny and Jason Potts all of Hardin, MT. Five great-grandchildren, Erica Pitsch, Kacie Engle, and Kenadi Eiler, Madison Eller and jack Valdes. She is also survived by brother-in-law Bill (Betty) Potts of Rosebud, MT.; sisters-in-law, Marie Dumler of Billings, MT., Edith Potts of Huntley, MT., Doris of Park City, MT., and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Monady, Jan. 31, in the Custer Cemetery, Custer, MT. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Acres for their kindness and special care given to our mother. Our hearts are filled with sorrow, there is little we can say, only time and our memories can comfort us since God has taken you away. We love you mom ---- rest in peace. Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is entrusted with the arrangements. Should friend desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Custer Congregational Church, Custer Park, or Heritage Acres.
