Description	:	Ethel Ann Happ, 93, of Greeley passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013, at her home west of Greeley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday on October 25, 2013, at the Greeley Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donald Buhrman officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the church with a Catholic Daughter's Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. T.J. Finn and Sons Mortuary of Greeley is in charge of arrangements. Ethel Ann was born on January 31, 1920, at Brayton, Nebraska to Clarence and Anna (Larkin) Purdy. She was raised in Greeley County and received her education at Reed Country School and graduated from Greeley Public School in 1937. After high school she took business classes through Greeley Sacred Heart School. For two years Ethel worked at the Agriculture office of Greeley County. On February 14, 1942, Ethel was united in marriage to Joseph J. Happ at Greeley. The couple lived and farmed west of Greeley. Ethel was a homemaker, mother of fifteen and assisted with the business aspect of the farm. Mr. Happ passed away on June 4, 2001. Ethel continued to live on the farm until her passing. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of American #2039. Ethel enjoyed cooking and raising her family. Survivors include seven sons and three daughters-in-law, James and Peggy, Gerald, Joseph and Karen, Larry, Peter, and Paul all of Greeley, and Ted and Patty Sumrall of Denver; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Dorothy and Ervin Woltman of Grand Island, Jeanne, Rosie and Howard Leino of Morrison, CO, Terri and John Burke of Alliance, Judy Maller of Encinitas, CA, Diane Howeth of Bellevue, and Mary and Matt Glesinger of Spalding; four sisters, Helen Nordhues, and Edith Nordhues both of Greeley, Maxine Whittle of Sumter, SC, and Dorothy Koenig of Spalding; a son-in-law, Skip Carper of Lincoln; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Marilyn Carper; three brothers, Cyril, Cletus and John Purdy; a sister, Evelyn Fullen; and two sons-in-law, Tom Howeth and Jeff Maller.
