Description	:	Ethel Kaslon, 91, of Loup City, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Tom Mullowney will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City with a 4 p.m. sodality rosary. Visitation will continue from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. vigil service. Ethel Irene Kaslon was born Oct. 9, 1911, at Loup City to Lloyd N. and Mattie (Lewis) Bly. Survivors of the immediate family include her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Clarence Oseka of Loup City; and a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jean Kaslon of Grand Island. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kaslon grew up in the Loup City area and attended rural school District No. 45. She married Stanley Kaslon on Nov. 24, 1931, at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. They farmed in Sherman County between Ashton and Rockville. Stanley passed away on Jan. 2, 1985. Ethel lived on the farm until the fall of 1984 when she moved into Loup City. She was employed by the Loup City Drive-In. She was a member of the St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, St. Josaphat's Altar Society and Rosary Sodality, and St. Josaphat's Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, sewing, word searches and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; three brothers, Harry, Earl and Melvin; and two grandchildren. The Grand Island Independent - Feb. 2 2003
