She was born on March 2, 1924, at Hendley, Nebraska to Floyd L. and Hazel V. (Boop) Hyke. She attended her first 3 years of school at country school northwest of Hendley. Read More	Ethel Marie Stagemeyer, age 92, of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Beaver City Manor, of Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born on March 2, 1924, at Hendley, Nebraska to Floyd L. and Hazel V. (Boop) Hyke. She attended her first 3 years of school at country school northwest of Hendley. In 1930 she moved with her family southeast of Beaver City and in 1933, the family moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska. She graduated from Arapahoe High School with the Class of 1943. She married Harold Stagemeyer on March 25, 1944, at Norton, Kansas. To this union 9 children were born; Carol, Waunda, Larry, Janet, Sandra, Randy, Jerry, Susie, and Peggy. They made their home at Holbrook, Nebraska on the farm and then in 1954 moved to Hendley. In 1967, they moved to Wilsonville, Nebraska and would then move to Beaver City in 1972. She worked at the Beaver City Manor with the Kitchen Department and then would work with residents as a Med Nurse until July of 1999 when she would retire. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was a very loving mother and enjoyed baking for her family and grandchildren, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed working with her garden and flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; sons Larry Harold and Jerry Lee; daughters Janet Faye Stagemeyer and Sueann Forbes; granddaughter Katrina Trenchard and infant grandson Robert Lee Jr.; brothers Floren and Robert Hyke; sister Maxine Shaw; sisters-in-law Joy and Shirley Hyke; brother-in-law Ed Shaw; brothers- and sisters-in-law Walt and Alice Niemeier, George and Velma Foster, Gladys and Dick Beachum, Doris Mae Lee, and Lucille Story. Survivors include daughters: Carol and husband Robert Lee of Norton, Kansas; Waunda and husband B.J. Morris of Stamford, Nebraska; Sandi and husband Gary Martin of Beaver City, Nebraska; Peggy Jo and husband Jason Nagy of Oxford, Nebraska;son: Randy and wife Mo Stagemeyer of Hendley, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. Brett Hinrichs, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Matthews Cemetery at Arapahoe, Nebraska.
