Read More	Stratford Courier November 30, 1905 Obituary Hamilton Etta Hamilton was born near Dallas Center, Dallas county, Iowa, Feb. 11, 1874, and died at Durango, Colorado, Nov. 19, 1905 at the age of 31 years, 9 months and 8 days. In 1881 she came with her parents to Stratford, Iowa, which has been her home the greater part of her life - the last few years having been spent in Webster City. In 1895 she united with the Methodist church of this place of which she was a member at the time of her death. Last January she went to Colorado in the hope of regaining her health, which had always been good up to a few months previous. It was thought she was improving, but about a week before her death she contracted a cold, which resulted in pneumonia, causing her death. During her last suffering she was very patient. The last day she wished that she might spend the day with her sisters. She leaves a mother, two sisters, Rena and Nettie and two brothers, Frank and Will, to mourn her death, her father having preceded her seven years before. She was always a dutiful daughter - a loving sister and a kind friend. The funeral was held at the residence at 1:30 p.m. and at the M.E. church at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. E.S. Benjamin. The church was crowded with people who came to pay their last tribute to the remains of a departed friend. The church was beautifully decorated and the casket was laden with floral offerings, consisting of wreaths, harps, hearts and a broken wheel. The remains were laid to rest in the Oakwood cemetery, followed by a large concourse of people.
