Visitaion: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. March 19, 2015 concluding with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Feigum Funeral Home. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. March 20, at Lutheran Memorial Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Eunice was born on December 2, 1920 to Peter and Alice (Michaelson) Lindbloom in Pierre, South Dakota. She graduated from Pierre High School in 1939 and lived her entire life in her beloved hometown. Eunice married Clarence L. Cory on December 11, 1941. Their first four years of marriage were spent with Clarence in the United States Army, serving in General Patton's Third Army in Europe during World War II. Eunice and Clarence were part of the Greatest Generation. Eunice became Hughes County Deputy Clerk of Courts in 1946 and was elected to the position of Clerk of Courts for Hughes County in 1954. She served in the Clerk of Courts office for 37 years until her retirement in 1983. She was a great resource and was considered the "Dean of the Clerk of Courts" during her tenure. The many judges she worked with over the years became her good friends. Governor William Janklow proclaimed March 11, 1983 as "Eunice Cory Day" in South Dakota in honor of her many years of public service. Eunice was an active member in her community. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Memorial Church. She was past president of the South Dakota County Officials Association, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Pierre Senior Citizens Center, Order of the Eastern Star, Zonta Club and RSVP. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, granddaughter, granson, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cory in 1999; her parents, Peter and Alice Lindbloom; her two brothers, Richard Lindbloom and Norman Lindbloom.
