Eunice Marvella (Ruckdaschel) Halverson was born January 19, 1921, to Victor Christian and Tonetta Josephine (Halverson) Ruckdaschel, at Postville, Iowa. She passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in the Central Community Hospital at Elkader, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 18 days. Eunice was baptized February 4, 1921 by the Reverend E. Schmidt and confirmed April 14, 1935 by the Reverend R. B. Garten both in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. She attended the rural schools, South Grove and completed her education in the Springfield School. Eunice worked for various families who lived nearby. Eunice enjoyed going for rides in the car, attending community and church social events, and going to garage sales. She has lived in Monona since 1952. She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Gene (David) Scheffert, Oelwein, IA, a granddaughter, Tracy (Daryn) Minton, Stanley, IA, a grandson, Eric (Kelly) Scheffert, Oelwein, IA, five great grandchildren, Stephanie, Sam, Spencer, Erika and Bailey, four step great grandchildren, Shawna, Tom, and Keith, and Mason, a half-brother, Orville Ruckdaschel, Monona, IA, two half sisters Betty Jean Knuth, Story City, IA, and Rose Marie Doerring, Monona, IA. Eunice is preceded in death by her parents, two half brothers, Earl Ruckdaschel and Elmer Ruckdaschel, a sister, Ileta Christofferson, a brother, Merrill Dean Ruckdaschel, and her special friend, Clarence Thomson.
