Mrs. Wear was retired from the Medical University Hospital as Director of Patient Relations. She was a member of the American Hospital Association, State Area Representatives Society of Patient Reps, The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc. and a long time member of the South Carolina Republican Party. Mrs. Wear was born on the 31st of August 1922, in Conway, SC, to the late Olga Woodbury Dudley and Lawrence W. Woodbury. She attended Burris High School and Stokes Business College. Mrs. Wear was retired from the Medical University Hospital as Director of Patient Relations. She was a member of the American Hospital Association, State Area Representatives Society of Patient Reps, The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc. and a long time member of the South Carolina Republican Party. Mrs. Wear was also a member of Sullivan's Island Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sisters, Desdie Kaylor and Barbara Robinson; brother William (Pug) and wife, Ann Dudley; two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Benjamin (Jackie) and Evelyn Wear, James (Jim) and Jacquelyn Wear, Jean and James Fleming; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lewis Wear; one daughter, Olga (Jerri) Moody; and two brothers, G. Lloyd Woodbury and James L. Woodbury. The family will have a private graveside service to be held at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens on the 16th of April 2012, at 11:00 A.M.
