Although her obituaries (several other obituaries published, evidently, besides The Fairfield Ledger obituary) and several family trees on Ancestry listed the birth location as being at Washington county, Iowa, there is a "Iowa, County Births" listing for her on Family Search that purportedly lists her birth location as being a Clay Township, Grundy county, Iowa. This contributor has not been able to find any other documentation to prove or disprove that location. Since Eva was married and died in Missouri, those vital... This contributor has not been able to find any other documentation to prove or disprove that location. Since Eva was married and died in Missouri, those vital records that perhaps list her birth location are not available to this contributor. Her parents married in 1918 and as/of the January 1, 1920 U.S. Census were living at Franklin Township in Washington County, Iowa. It is possible, of course, that her parents, or at least her mother, were in Grundy county, Iowa at the time of her birth on August 17, 1920, but this contributor has not found any particular reason in the obituaries for her parents that indicate that the family was in Grundy county, Iowa. Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. ~~~~ The Fairfield Ledger Friday, October 17, 2008 Page 10 STEVER, Eva Aldora -- Eva Aldora STEVER, 88, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Mo. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim McGaffy officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Park, which was originally part of the STEVER property. Mrs. STEVER was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Washington County, the daughter of Carson Archer and Margaret SINN REIGHARD. She married George Frank STEVER June 22, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death. Mrs. STEVER was a 1939 graduate of Fairfield High School. She was a homemaker, dispatcher at the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Center, headstart teacher, Fairfield school district bus driver, church camp cook and waitress at Turner Hotel. She also worked at Montgomery Ward. She was a lifetime resident of Fairfield. Mrs. STEVER was a member of Fairfield Free Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Frank and wife Eleanor of Grand Island, Neb., Harry of Fairfield and Ralph and wife Sandy of Fairfield; three daughters, Mary TERRILL and husband Tom of North Liberty, Kathy KIDDOO and husband Bill of Memphis, Mo., and Cynthia THOMPSON and husband John of Wyaconda, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Cloyce REIGHARD of Burlington; and one sister, Wilda GRAHAM of San Diego, Calif. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one daughter, Margaret PARKER; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Wilma EDWARDS and Edna MANLEY; and one brother, Donald REIGHARD.
