Description	:	Eva C. (Warkentin) Unruh, 91, of Brookings, S.D., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012. She was born March 5, 1921, in Ellis and attended eight years of country school and graduated from Beatrice High School. She then attended cosmetology school. She married Harold Warkentin on Oct. 25, 1939, in Beatrice. They lived in Brush, Colo., and Wichita, Kan., before returning to Beatrice, where they owned and operated a laundromat and later bought Dixie Cream Donut. She also worked as a hairdresser. (Warkentin) Unruh, 91, of Brookings, S.D., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012. She was born March 5, 1921, in Ellis and attended eight years of country school and graduated from Beatrice High School. She then attended cosmetology school. She married Harold Warkentin on Oct. 25, 1939, in Beatrice. They lived in Brush, Colo., and Wichita, Kan., before returning to Beatrice, where they owned and operated a laundromat and later bought Dixie Cream Donut. She also worked as a hairdresser. After Harold's death, she married John Unruh on Nov. 25, 1978, in Beatrice, and they lived in Pipestone, Minn., Fergus Falls, Minn., and Brookings, S.D. She was a member of the Beatrice Mennonite Church of Beatrice and had been a Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her husband, John Unruh, of Brookings, S.D.; five sons, Robert Warkentin and wife, Shirley, of Newton, Kan., Duane Warkentin and wife, Cathy, of Miltonvale, Kan., Ron Warkentin of Seattle, Richard Warkentin and wife, Vicky, and Larry Warkentin and wife, Susan, all of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Mari Flanagan, of Beatrice; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John's family includes Pastor and Mrs. David Baynes and family, Mr. and Mrs. Marv Flodin and family, Steven and Dolly Unruh and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Unruh and family, Viola Allen and family; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Effie Stanhope Jamison; her first husband, Harold, who died Oct. 17, 1977; two brothers, Earl and Charles Jamison. Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, with Pastor David Baynes officiating. Burial will be at the First Mennonite Cemetery of rural Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 3 p.m. Friday until time of services Saturday.
