Sandra Wainwright officiated the ceremony. Casket bearers were Doug Scott, Dean Kester, Henry Moser, Paul Hardisty, Cecil Roberts, and Earl Dean Roberts. At the register book was LaVerne Meggison. Eva Lena Leiner, daughter of John and Lou Lamar Roberts, was born March 9, 1891 in Platte County, Missouri and entered into rest October 14, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Villisca, Iowa. When she was very young, the family moved to Adams County, Iowa and the last fifty years she has lived-in the Villisca area. On October 31, 1917, Eva was united in marriage with Fred William Leiner. One daughter was born to this union. She made many crafts and worked until she was 80. She was fortunate to have been able to remain in her own home until about 3 years ago when She moved to the Villisca Good Samaritan Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four sisters and two brothers. Eva is survived by her daughter, Ethel Scholey and her husband, Wade of Villisca; two grandchildren, Kathy Litten and her husband Ralph of Liberty, Missouri, and Fred Scholey of Villisca; two great grandchildren, Trevor and Felicia Litten of Liberty, and one sister and many nieces and nephews.
