She was born May 21, 1910, at Turkey Ford, Okla., the daughter of Benjamin Frank and Girtie Ethel Mathia Steele. When she was a child, she moved to a farm between Lawrence and Eudora. She did domestic work for several years. In the early 1950s, she worked in the cafeteria at the Kansas University student union. She later worked at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and retired in the late 1960s. Mrs. Davis was a member of Lawrence Friends Church and was a Sunshine Girl at the church. Survivors include a son, Duane G. Davis, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Donna A. Muzzy, Lawrence; a brother, Owen Steele, Paola; two sisters, Grace Farhat, Escondido, Calif., and Noma Harris, Lawrence; six grandchildren; and four great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Davis.
