It was one of the largest funerals held here for some time and scores and scores of old friends and acquaintances gathered to pay their last tribute to the departed one. Read More	Funeral of Mrs. Joe Neyens Friday The last rites for Mrs. Joe Neyens, whose remains were brought to Creighton on Wednesday of last week from Genesee, Idaho, were held on last Friday morning at St. Ludger Catholic church. It was one of the largest funerals held here for some time and scores and scores of old friends and acquaintances gathered to pay their last tribute to the departed one. Father Windolph, the pastor, celebrated requiem high mass and spoke eloquently of the life of Mrs. Neyens. Many beautiful floral offerings graced the casket. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. The pallbearers were Andrew Mecke, Herman and Elmer Neyens, Elmer Wagner and Leonard and George Sukup. Eva Margaret Wagner was born on the old Wagner homestead northwest of Creighton on February 22, 1883 and died at her home in Genesse, Idaho on October 10, 1936 at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 18 days. Mrs. Neyens spent the greater part of her life in this community and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt Wagner, early pioneers of this county. In February 1918 she was united in marriage to Joe Neyens at Creighton. This union was blessed with four children, one dying in infancy. Shortly after their marriage, she with her husband resided on the Neyens farm northwest of town and then lived the following five years with her parents to care for them, when they were in ill health. In 1924 the Neyens family moved to Orefino, Idaho, where they lived a year and then west to their present home at Genesee, Idaho, where they have lived up to the time of her passing. Left to mourn are the husband, one son, Richard, 17 years and two daughters, Mary, 15 years and Clara, 8 years. Other surviving relatives are one sister, Mrs. Joe Sukup and six brothers, John, Joe, Leo, Richard, Edward and George. Her parents and three sisters, Mrs. A. Sladek, Mrs. H. Mecke and Mrs. George Sukup preceded her in death. Mrs. Neyens was a quiet Christian woman, a faithful member of her church and a kind and devoted mother. She was loved and respected by her every acquaintance. Friends privileged to know her will mourn her passing in all sincerity. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were John Neyens of Cascade, Ia; Ben Neyens and son, Jerome of Colome, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Neyens of Winter, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Neyens of Lemars, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Klein and children, Clements, Lawrence and Rita of Custer City, Okla.; Mrs. Christian Rhuland of Hinton, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sitzman of Sioux City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meister and daughter, Mildred of Hinton, Ia. and Annie Orban of LeMars, Ia. Every member of the Neyens family was here to attend the funeral of their sister-in-law and it was the first time they had been together in thirty-one years. Those residing in the Creighton community are John and Henry Neyens and Mrs. Leo Frisch.
