Nelson, age 91 of Fairfield died on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. She was born March 7, 1921 in Fairfield, the daughter of William M. and Alta M. Heston Turner. Evelyn married Robert Hess Nelson on May 29, 1949 at Nauvoo, Illinois. She lived most of her life in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1938. Evelyn was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. She had worked as an assistant cashier at the First National Bank. Deceased family members include her husband on July 18, 2005, her parents, a daughter Sue Guerriero, a grandson William T. Spletter and 4 brothers: Paul M., Harry L., Glenn E. and James W. Turner. Surviving family include son Thomas G. ( Kay) Nelson of Aurora, CO, 2 daughters: Patricia ( Tom) Mc Hugh of Springfield, PA and Debra L. Nelson of Elizabeth, CO. plus 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Stacy Grau officiating. Private family interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 10:30 A.M. prior to the Memorial Service at the Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to the Jefferson County Health Center Foundation or to the First Lutheran Church. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairfield.
