She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald W. Day and lived her entire life in the Marysville-Yuba City area as a homemaker and mother. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Hinsdale (Jim McCarty) of Las Vegas, NV and Deborah Day (Tanya Becker) of Sacramento, CA. Also survived by granddaughters, Tara Solheim (Gary) of Klamath Falls, OR, Jessica Hubbard Kurtz (Josh) of Auburn, CA, Shelby Cavazos (Joey) of Sutter, CA and Corby Hinsdale of Yuba City, CA. She also leaves great granddaughters Jenna Solheim of Klamath Falls, OR, Asher & Ruby Kurtz of Auburn, CA, Sydney & Emery Cavazos of Sutter, CA and Tea Worden of Yuba City, CA. Evelyn is also survived by her brother and sister-in- law George & Shyrlie Emery of Yuba City, CA, nine nieces & nephews, numerous great nieces, and nephews, and many wonderful friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was pre-deceased by her daughter, Jan Day Ferguson, brother, Howard "Bud" Emery and sisters, Betty Thompson and Phyllis Emery. Evelyn graduated from Yuba City Union High School in 1936 where she reigned as queen of the Mardi Gras her last year. She married Donald W. Day on November 10, 1940 and together they raised three girls in Marysville, CA. Evelyn loved her family dearly and looked forward to every occasion when they would gather especially Christmas, her favorite holiday. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, wonderful sense of humor and her great devotion to her family, her most cherished treasure. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. We would like to thank the staffs at Emerald Oaks and Sutter North Hospice for the loving care, comfort and attention they gave her during her last days. She considered all of you as part of her family, especially her "girls". Private entombment at Sierra View Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial Service for family and friends at 3pm on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA 95991. A Celebration of her Life and BBQ dinner will be held at the Cavazos residence in Sutter, CA immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sutter North Hospice c/o Sutter North Medical Foundation Fund Development, 969 Plumas St., Suite 207, Yuba City, CA 95991, or a charity of your choice.
