Description	:	Everett Theodore Stearley, 92, of Shelton died Wednesday Feb. 16, 2011, at Mount Carmel Home.Everett was born March 27, 1918, in Brown County to Fred and Nancy (Tabor) Stearley. Everett was one of seven children. In 1919 the family moved to Gibbon and later to a farm south of Shelton. Everett attended schools in Gibbon and Shelton. Everett was one of seven children. In 1919 the family moved to Gibbon and later to a farm south of Shelton. Everett attended schools in Gibbon and Shelton. On May 19, 1939, he married Charlotte Harris and to this union one daughter, Evelyn Kay was born May 20, 1941, in Roseville, Calif. On Aug. 3, 1966, he married Lizzie Tobiassen Smith. Everett farmed, was a farm laborer, owned a garage but was best known as the "Maintainer Man" for Shelton Township. He had a reputation for well graded roads, dedication to timely snow removal and the best "diker" in the area. In his spare time he loved fishing and enjoyed repairing lawn mowers. At the age of 87, on Feb. 5, 2006, he was baptized in the Christian faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and then later confirmed. After his wife entered a nursing home, he lived in his own home until his recent hospitalization. Everett is survived by his wife, Lizzie, stepchildren, Elaine Wiseman (Byron) of Kearney, Ellen Luehr (William) of Wood River and Michael Smith (Judy) of Omaha; stepgrandchildren, Le Anne Wiseman of Columbia, Mo., Bruce Wiseman (Marci) of Tarzana, Calif., Karla Wiseman of Long Beach, Calif., Sherri Wiseman (Dominick Esposito) Laguna Niguel, Calif., Mark Wiseman (Katie) of Grapevine, Texas, Tonya Luehr of Denver, Cydney Callanan (Joe) of Redondo Beach, Calif., Stephanie Perry (Christian) of Seaford, N.Y., Whitney Smith (Sara) of Tekamah and Ashley Smith of Waterloo, stepgreat-grandchildren, Jillian Wiseman, of Tarzana, Shannon Fox of Columbia and Christopher Smith of Tekamah; brothers, Lyle (Betty) of Shelton, Orville (Martha) of Petaluma, Calif., and sister, Bernice Buck of Mitchell; and a host of relatives and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Evelyn Fothergill, brothers Gerald, Elmer and Dale Stearley. Published Grand Island Independent 2/16/2011
