Mr. Clausen was born Oct. 8, 1899, at Cawker City and lived most of his life in the Alton area. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Saqui Masonic Lodge of Osborne; the Knights Templar Commandery No. 51 and Cryptic Masons No. 17, both of Phillipsburg; Royal Arch Masons No. 67 of Smith Center; and the Isis Shrine Temple of Salina. His wife, Viola, died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Lucille Stroup of Alton; two sisters, Bernice Dugan and Elda Bolen, both of Alton; a brother, Lawrence “Buck” of Turlock, Calif.; three grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; and a great–great–granddaughter. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Alton United Methodist Church, the Rev. Brent Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery, Alton. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clark–Gashaw Mortuary, 238 N. First, Osborne, Kan., 67473.
