Fannie Schut, 90, of Sioux Center died Sunday, October 26, at Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, October 28, at First Reformed Church with the Rev. Mark De Witt and the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Miss Schut was born on February 15, 1907, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Peter S. and Ella (Vermeer) Schut. In her early adult years, she took care of her parents. She moved to Sioux City in 1956 and returned to Sioux Center in 1979. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, where she served as U.P.W. president and as a deaconess on the church board, the Northwest Iowa Presbyterian board, a board member of the Boys and Girls Home and the Family Service board. She was a member of First Reformed Church, the Priscilla Circle, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Women's Club. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years. Survivors include a sister, Edna Schut, of Sioux Center; a sister-inlaw, Myna Schut, of Sioux Center; and her nieces and nephews, Peter A., Ellsworth P.. Glen and Harlan Schut, Marcia Mulder. Shirley Kuiper and Pauline De Haan. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam P. and Ed Schut and a brother in infancy. Sioux Center News 1997-10-28.
