His death followed a severe heart attack. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Goettsch funeral home. Rev. Henry L. Adix officiated, and burial was made at Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Petersen was born in Germany in 1866. He came to the United States when he was 17 years of age and settled near Wyoming. He was married to Louisa Holst at Maquoketa Dec. 8, 1893. Five children were born to this union. Mr. Petersen was preceded in death by two children. The survivors are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Ida Boner and Herman Petersen of Center Junction, and Mrs. Ella Von Sprecken of Wyoming. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Carstenson and Mrs. August Carstenson, both of Wyoming. During his active years, Mr. Petersen pursued the vocation of a farmer. He retired from active work in 1924, and since that time had made his home on North Sycamore Street.
