Description	:	Mrs. Flora De Jong, age 83, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Hull, passed away Saturday, June 20,1998, at the Villa de Sante Care Center in Omaha. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev, Carl Klompien and the Rev. Richard De Vries officiated. Interment was held afterwards at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home of Hull. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev, Carl Klompien and the Rev. Richard De Vries officiated. Interment was held afterwards at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home of Hull. Flora was born January 1, 1915, in Rock Valley, the daughter of John and Bessie (Vander Stoep) Bajema. She was raised at Rock Valley. She graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull and also attended college. On October 12, 1945, she married Gerrit H. Roelofs in Inwood. They made their home in Hull. Mr. Roelofs passed away September 22, 1967, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On March 21, 1975, she married Robert M. De Jong in Sioux Center. They continued to live in Hull. "Rob" passed away April 23, 1996, in Hull. "Flo" later moved to Omaha to be by her daughter and granddaughter. S he was a teacher at the Hull Christian Elementary School for 37 years and also a homemaker. Mrs. De Jong was a member of the First Christian Reformed in Hull, where she had been active in the women's organizations. Survivors include her daughter, Faye Hanson, of Omaha; her granddaughter, Nicole Hanson, of Omaha; seven step-children, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edith Blankespoor, of Inwood; Katie Ver Beek, of Sioux Falls; and Anna Veining and Ella Vander Lugt, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and a brother, Otto Bajema, of Grand Rapids. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Van Laten; and a brother, Willis Bajema. Memorials are being directed to the Hull Christian School.
