Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Maupin were held at two o'clock Wednesday in the Nelson Methodist Church, the Rev. I.L. Belden officiating. Flora Elnora Maupin, eldest of nine children of James M. and Elizabeth J. Simms (sic), was born near Hartford City, Ind., Nov. 7, 1867 and died at the Nuckolls County Nursing Home in Nelson, Nebr., Jan. 13, 1963 at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 6 days. Flora Elnora Maupin, eldest of nine children of James M. and Elizabeth J. Simms (sic), was born near Hartford City, Ind., Nov. 7, 1867 and died at the Nuckolls County Nursing Home in Nelson, Nebr., Jan. 13, 1963 at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 6 days. When about seven years old, she moved with her family by covered wagon from Indiana to near Keithsburg, Ill., where they lived for two years. Then, again by covered wagon, they moved to Richardson County, Nebr., and after seven years to Fillmore County. A year later the family moved to Nuckolls County. On Sept. 18, 1890, Flora was married to Benjamin Franklin Maupin at Nelson, and to this union was born one daughter, Mabel Fern. In 1910 their home was established in Nelson and remained there the rest of her life. Mrs. Maupin was a life-long Christian and member of the Methodist Church and on Jan. 13, 1916 her membership was transferred from Oak to the Nelson church where she remained an active member until her death, faithfully attending its services as long as her health permitted. Preceding her in death were her father and mother; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Lock, Mrs. Cora Barrows and Mrs. Stella McNermy; two brothers, Charles and Ezra Simms (sic); and her husband. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Luella Simonton, Mrs. Minnie Duncan and Mrs. Tina Dillman; and her daughter, Mabel Maupin, all of Nelson. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
