She was the third child in a family of nine and the first break in the circle of brothers and sisters has come in her death. All the remaining members of this circle are privileged to be present at this service today with the exception of a sister, Mrs. Effie Locke of Alberta, Canada. Those present are Mrs. Flora Maupin of Nelson Charles E. Sims of Edgar; Stella Sims of Oak; Ezra of Wyoming; Mrs. Luella Simonton, Mrs. Minnie Duncan and Mrs. Tina Dillman of Oak. The aged mother still living at the ripe age of 76 years, is in too precarious state of health to attend the service. Her sister, Mrs. John Curtis, and husband of Stella, are also in attendance. When but a child the deceased came with the family to Nebraska, locating near Stella. A few years later another change was made to near Oak, in this county, where Mr. and Mrs. Sims permanently located Miss Cora was united in marriage December 25th, 1889, to William A. Barrows. Fourteen years ago Mr. and Mrs. Barrows moved to Nelson which from that date has been their home. As a fruit of this union there have been twelve children born Four of them have died. Those living, are: Paul, Judson, Nellie, Mrs. Della Cox, Pearl, Hazel, Frank and Frances. These young people will sadly miss a tender mother's love who has ever been eagerly desirous of their highest and best development in life. Mrs. Barrows was converted in her youth. She united with the United Brethren church (sic) in Oak at that time. On moving to Nelson she transferred her membership to the Methodist church (sic) of this place and was a member at the time of her death. She has been in declining health for some time and not able on that account to attend much upon the services of the church, but her heart was right and her faith in her acceptance with God was unwavering to the end. She declared to her loved ones that if called to go that she was fully ready. She was gentle and mild in disposition and was much loved by her many friends who knew her best. Without warning, the summons came at the close of last Sabbath day while visiting at the home of her mother in Oak. A brief last word to her husband and in a few moments she was gone. The sympathy of the large circle of her acquaintances and friends is extended to all today who mourn. Her age at the time of her death was 48 years, 7 months and 10 days. The funeral occurred from the Methodist church at half past two o'clock this afternoon, services being conducted by the Pastor, H.G. Wilcox. Card of Thanks We do wish to sincerely thank the friends at Oak; also our neighbors and friends at home who have been so helpful and kind to us in so many ways, during the time of our sorrow occasioned by the loss of our dear wife and mother.
