Born Dec. 16, 1869, in Doniphan county, Kan., Mrs. Fisher spent her girlhood in Bendena in that county and was married there April 29, 1896, to Jacob M. Fisher, who survives her. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher spent their early married life in St. Joseph, Mo., and in May 1906, came to Fort Collins. For several years Mr. Fisher operated a grocery store at the location of the present Wolfer-Cahill store at South College avenue and Laurel street. Sold in 1914 He also has owned a farm northeast of the city. In 1914 he sold the grocery store. A charter member of the Art and Literature club, from which she had resigned, Mrs. Fisher had been president of the Ladies Aid society of Methodist church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Fortnightly club. She had been particularly interested in church work. 3 Children Surviving, besides her husband, are three children, Dwight A. Fisher of this city, Mrs Elva Mae Strickland of Grand Junction and Eugene Fisher of Odessa, Tex. One son, Jacob M. Fisher, Jr. preceded her in death.
