Description	:	Albers Rites At Bendena On Friday William C. Albers, 89, Bendena, died last night at Oak Ridge Acres in Hiawatha. He was a retired farmer and former chairman of the board of the Bendena State Bank. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church in Bandena with the Rev. Harry Hull officiating. Burial will be in the Moray cemetery with Masonic graveside services, Norman Elliott lecturer. The body will lie in state at the church an hour before the services. He was a retired farmer and former chairman of the board of the Bendena State Bank. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church in Bandena with the Rev. Members of the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tomorrow at the Stanton mortuary. Mr. Albers was born Sept. 29, 1879, in the Bendena community, a son of John and Rosa Albers. He attended Bendena schools and the former Midland college in Atchison. He had operated a lumber yard at Bendena and later worked at the Benda Bank where he was board chairman for a number of years. Most of his active life he was engaged in farming near Bendena. He served on the Bendena school board many years. Mr. Albers and Myrtle Hackney of Troy ere married June 5, 1905, and observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1965. She died Nov. 6, 1966. He was a member of St. John's church at Bendena and served as church treasurer for more than 60 years. He was a member of Bendena Lodge No. 440 AF & AM. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Alvy (Merle) MeNemee, and Mrs. Herbert (Elva) Reder, Troy, Mrs. Colvin (Vera) Blevins, Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Mildred Albers, Topeka; one son, Herbert Albers, Bendena; a brother, George Albers, Bendena; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Myers, Bendena; nine grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren.
