Description	:	KEARNEY — Florence Jepsen, 93, of Kearney, formerly of Minden, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Services were held on Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Minden with the Rev. James Benton officiating. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery. She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Crofton to Frank and Katherine (Guenther) Schieffer. On Aug. 23, 1949, she married Arthur Jepsen. He preceded her in death. —— Survivors include her daughters, Janet Strong and her husband, Scott, of Wilcox and Nancy Hillers and her husband, Steve, of Lexington; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, Brandon Jameson and wife, Sherry, and kids Kelsey Jameson and Sierra Radford, Adam Hillers and wife, Sarah, and kids Chandler Behymer and RaeLyn Hillers, Brittany Hock and husband, Mitch, and kids Owen and Olivia, Rachelle High and husband, Jason, and kids Conner Liljestrand and Jada, Jameson and Jorjanna High, Spencer Strong and wife, Bobbie, and kids Sutton and Halli Jo, Brooke Miller and husband, Patrick, and kids Braxton, Brogan and Blakely, Crystal Robinson and husband, Ryan, and kids Eli and Harper, and Alyssa Strong; sister, Pauline Spenner of Hartington; and many nieces and nephews. She received her elementary education in a country school at Constance and graduated from Crofton High School. Florence worked in Yankton, S.D., for a while until World War II. At that time, she worked as a timekeeper for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif. She returned to Nebraska and worked as a receptionist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She and Arthur made their home in Minden. She was a housewife and her husband's business partner. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. In 2004, she moved to Northridge Retirement Community in Kearney. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Published in The Kearney Hub, June 25, 2014
