He was born May 8, 1905, at Cedar Rapids, Neb., to Foster and Effie (Stephens) Taylor. In 1910 he and his family moved to a homestead 14 miles north of Witten in Greenwood Township in Tripp County. In 1928 he moved to Mellette County near Wood where he farmed and ranched. On June 30, 1932, he was united in marriage with Lillian E. Reinoehl in Witten. Taylor, 88 Custer, died July 9. 1993, a Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born May 8, 1905, at Cedar Rapids, Neb., to Foster and Effie (Stephens) Taylor. On June 30, 1932, he was united in marriage with Lillian E. Reinoehl in Witten. They made their home in Mellette County until March 1967, when they moved to Custer. Floyd also worked for the U.S. Forest Service under the "Older American Program" from 1977 until his death. He was active in the Rosebud Valley Baptist Church for many years. Upon his arrival in Custer, he became active in the Berean Bible Church. Some of Floyd's fondest memories were of the years be spent raising and training horses and mules. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Taylor, Custer; one son and daughter-in-law, Freeman and Connie Taylor, Greeley, Colo.; two daughters, Lois and her husband Dale Devish, Sioux Falls, and Louise Rohlf, Belle Fourche; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law and five brothers. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at McColley's Chapels of the Southern Hills of Custer and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Berean Bible Church with the Rev. Roger Bond officiating. Burial will be at Custer City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dick Laue, Ken Colyer, Herb Pavlisick, James Lindo, Lee Sutton and Dan Kruse. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Floyd C. Tayl¬or Memorial Fund.
