Burial was made at the South Marion Cemetery. Floyd Warren Barquist, a resident of Boone for over 20 years, died at the Boone County Hospital Monday, July 30, at 2:30 a.m. His death cameto relieve him from a prolonged incurable illness and intense suffering and pain. Very well known and honored in the Stratford and Stanhope communities, Mr. Barquist had reached the age of 50 years, 5 months and 28 days. He was born and reared at Stratford, the son of Edwin H. and Anna Leksell Barquist. He was united in marriage to Hazel Bailey of Fraser, Iowa in 1928, and to this union three children, Joyce, Eddie and Billy were born. While in the Boone vicinity he was engaged in the livestock and auctioneering business. He was a faithful member of Augustana Lutheran Church of Boone, having served on the Board of Trustees before his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph. Survivors include his widow, Hazel; a daughter, Mrs. John Boehm of Ogden; two sons, Eddie and Billy at home; two brothers, Aubrey of Simlia, Colorado, and Clifford of Stratford; two grandchildren, Kyle Anne and Mary Boehm of Ogden, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
