Barquist May 19, 1901. To them were born four sons, namely: Ralph, Floyd, Aubrey and Clifford. These with the father and husband, one brother, Eric Leksell, two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Carlson and Miss Marie Leksell, are left to mourn her departure on September 20, 1929, at the age of 47 years, 3 months, 20 days. Barquist, nee Anna Leksell, was born June 1, 1882 near Stratford. She grew to womanhood here and was married to E.H. Barquist May 19, 1901. To them were born four sons, namely: Ralph, Floyd, Aubrey and Clifford. These with the father and husband, one brother, Eric Leksell, two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Carlson and Miss Marie Leksell, are left to mourn her departure on September 20, 1929, at the age of 47 years, 3 months, 20 days. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Leksell, as well as a brother, Andrew, have preceded her in death. Just a few weeks ago Mrs. Barquist was taken ill which a short time before her death became very serious and she was taken to the hospital in Boone for medical treatment. Then it was learned that her condition was critical and she did not linger long on this earth. Her passing has caused a real sorrow in the home and among many friends in Stratford. She was baptized and confirmed in the local Lutheran church where she had for years been a willing worker and could always be relied on whenever it was necessary for the welfare of the church. For many years she was a teacher in the Sunday school and her pupils have testified that she was able to give them knowledge concerning the right and narrow path to life eternal. She will be sorely missed by the near ones who would need her help even in things that pertain to their spiritual welfare. Her death leaves a hole in the family circle, a vacancy in the church where she had worked so long but her labors on earth were finished and she was called to go to that better land. Peace to her memory. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church Monday conducted by Rev. Ekeberg, of the Dayton Lutheran Church, and by the local student, Rev. E.L. Borg. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery. The local camp Royal Neighbors of America, of which deceased was a revered member took part in the burial services at the cemetery. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Snyder and family of Fairmont, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Holmberg, P.O. Barquist and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson and family, all of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Carlson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller and son, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barquist, Arthur Barquist and sister, Ruth, all of Des Moines; J.V. Carlson, Mrs. Oscar Anderson of Boone; C.H. Elliott and son, Leslie, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Elliott, Mrs. Ida Leksell and daughter, Zelpha, all of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Barquist of Stanhope.
