Read More	EBBEKA, FRANCES GERALDINE—Frances Geraldine Hutchens Ebbeka was born to Lewis Edward and Elsie Francy (McDermet) Hutchens on December 8, 1915, near Geneva, and passed away May 27, 1985, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 19 days of age. She was one of five children in the family. She attended District 45 country school and was a 1933 graduate of Geneva high school. Frances was employed by the Lincoln Telephone Company for eight years as a switchboard operator and was the chief operator before leaving her position to be married. She was married to Lawrence Ebbeka on February 18, 1944. To this union four children were born: Dian, Elsie, Robert Lawrence, Gerald Henry and Sue Ella. The family lived on the farm until they retired in 1979, when they moved to their home in Geneva. Frances was later employed by the Fillmore County Hospital for 20 years. Many lasting friendships were made with her co-workers and others she came in contact with. She was a member of the United Methodist church, Chelsea Extension Club, and until recently, when her health failed, was a member of the Genealogical Society. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Geneva; a daughter, Diane and her husband, John Jacobsen, of North Platte; son, Robert and his wife, Constance, of Lincoln; son Gerald and his wife, Deanna, of Lincoln; daughter, Sue and her husband, James Lottman, of Elmwood; James and Jacqueline Jacobsen, Kristen and Robert Ebbeka and Adam Ebbeka; a brother, Darrel Hutchens and his wife Lela of Geneva; a sister, Maxine, and her husband, Robert Nichols, of Geneva; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Frances was loving and thoughtful to everyone. Her first concern was the happiness of her family. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist church in Geneva on Thursday, May 30, with the Rev. Donald Marsh officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Delwin v. Myers, who sang “How Great Thou Art” and “In the Garden.” Those serving as pallbearers were Edward Hellbusch, Bernard Weiss, Norbert Gergen, John Brooke, Donald Peterson and Verle Myers.
