Description	:	Frances Jean (Gingerich) Nafziger passed away April 15, 2021, at home in Wellman, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Frances was born Sept. 18, 1945, to Aldine and Wilma Gingerich in rural Wellman, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1964 and attended one year of college at Eastern Mennonite University. She then received an LPN degree from LaJunta School of Nursing in LaJunta, Colorado. This started a career in nursing in various hospitals, nursing homes and doctor's offices in Iowa. She married Gary Nafziger August 9, 1968. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1964 and attended one year of college at Eastern Mennonite University. She then received an LPN degree from LaJunta School of Nursing in LaJunta, Colorado. This started a career in nursing in various hospitals, nursing homes and doctor's offices in Iowa. She married Gary Nafziger August 9, 1968. Frances loved giving patient care in the field of nursing. She enjoyed the experiences the family had in living in Saskatchewan and Ontario, Canada and then the Appalachian area of Kentucky. She made friends easily and often and will be greatly missed. Frankie, I was smitten on our first date when you appeared at the door in blue. I was sure I had chosen above my rank and this would be one date. Surprisingly many more followed. Eventually we drove the high Alps in Switzerland, walked the bridges over canals in Venice, viewed the architecture of Vienna, then got engaged in a little side park to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We were married in 1968. We struggled together with the normal things of life but were blessed with three boys, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Most of all we hung together, supported one another, and with you, it all was made much easier. God speed and may you rest in peace. Gary In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or to a Hospice of your choice. We thank everyone for your support with thought and prayers. Frances was preceded in death by her parents: Aldine and Wilma Gingerich; her sisters: Lucy Hostetler and Brenda Stauffer. She is survived by her husband, Gary Nafziger; and three sons: Chris Nafziger (Luda), Tim Nafziger (Jessica) and Pat Nafziger (Christine); grandchildren: Sarah (Nafziger) Fehrmann, Naomi Nafziger, Jillian Nafziger, Anna Nafziger, Morgyn Nafziger, Aidan Nafziger and Kaitylyn Nafziger; one great-grandchild: Ashton Fehrmann; brothers-in-law: Ardell Stauffer and Sanford Hostetler; sister: Linda (Dale) Miller; a twin: Twila (Ed) Miller; and a brother: Lee (Julie) Gingerich. Services were held Monday, April 19, 2021, at West Union Mennonite Church.
