Description	:	Frank was the son of James O'Herron. He drowned in the Coon River. June 17, 1896 - Carroll Sentinel - Jos. Hoos received a telegram this p.m. from James O'Herron, sent from Auburn, stating that his son, Frank, was drowned in the Coon River at Grant City. No farther particulars of the sad affair is known. June 19, 1896 - Carroll Sentinel - One of the saddest events we have been called on to record for some time is the death of Frank O'Herron, who lost his life in the Coon River at Grant City while bathing Wednesday afternoon. Mr. O'Herron and his three sons took a day off and thought they would enjoy themselves bathing and fishing. Mr. O'Herron was looking at some working men building the new dam while the boys were bathing a short distance up the river. Frank got beyond his depth and could not swim. The other brothers, as they oould not swim, were unable to lend any assistance and were compelled to stand by and see the water close over him for the last time. They hallooed for help, but so far away were the workmen that he had sunk before they arrived. The body was found about a half hour later and was brought home. The funeral was held today at St. Joseph's church and was largely attended. The death of this young man is peculiarly sad and castes a pall over his many friends.
