Description	:	June 17, 1926 - Carroll Times - Mrs. James O'Herron passed away at her home, 108 South Clark street, Tuesday evening at 7:40 o'clock after an illness extending over a perod of two months. She was first taken with flu and complications several months ago and while for a time she was seriously sick, she was making improvement until last week when she suffered an attack of grippe. Read More	June 17, 1926 - Carroll Times - Mrs. James O'Herron passed away at her home, 108 South Clark street, Tuesday evening at 7:40 o'clock after an illness extending over a perod of two months. Her weakened condition was unable to withstand this malady and while she made a brave struggle she died Tuesday evening, after being in a critical condition since Sunday. Mrs. O'Herron as Miss Bertha Hughes was born in Carnarvon, Wales, December 27, 1845. Her mother died when she was a small child and she came to America with her father when she was seven years old. They located in Racine, Wis., where her early life was spent. November 18, 1869, she was united in marriage to James O'Herron at the St. John's church, Chicago, Illinois. They located on a farm in that vicinity and 10 years later came to Arcadia, settling near that town. Remaining there ten years they moved to a farm near Mt. Carmel which was their home until they came to Carroll 15 years ago, at which time they retired from active farm life. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. O'Herron, two dying in infancy. One son, Frank, died by drowning 30 years ago at the age of 17 years and a daughter, Mattie, died 17 years ago. The surviving children are: Sister M. Viola, Odanah, Wis.; Andrew O'Herron, Charles City, Ia.; James O'Herron, Carroll; Joseph O'Herron, Carroll; Mrs. William Mengis, Carroll; Tessie O'Herron at home. Mrs. O'Herron was a delightful and pleasant woman, who had the welfare of her family always at heart. She was a devout member of the St. Joseph church in this city and a member of the Married Ladies Sodality of the church. She and her husband fittingly observed their fiftieth wedding anniersary six years ago when they renewed their marriage vows at the St. Joseph church. Always active and cheerful sickness was a hardship to her but she was uncomplaining and cheerful during her illness and liked nothing better than the visits of her children, who made it a point to spend as much time with her as possible. Those living a distance from Carroll made several visits to their mothers bedside. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at the St Joseph's church. The sorrowing husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community in the death of this good woman.
