Read More	His obituary from Rapid City Journal "PIEDMONT MAN DIES FROM HIS INJURIES Frank G Beatty Succumbs to Broken Vertebra received in Fall Frank G Beatty, 40, timber worker of Piedmont, who was injured when his wagon was struck by a car on Thursday night, died at 8;30 Saturday night in the Mayo Hospital at Rochester during an operation according to C W Maltby, a nephew, living here in Rapid City. Following the accident Beatty was brought to a local hospital. It was found by the physician that was called that the main vertabra in his neck was fractured. He was sent to Rochester, Minn. the following night but died within an hour after his arrival. The body as returned to Piedmont, yesterday where the funeral will be held. The day has not been set since some of his realatives have not arrived. Besides his wife he is survived by his sister Mrs Frank Cooper of Piedmont. According to the reports of the accident, Beatty was hauling a load of logs to Piedmont, after dark Thursday night. About a half mile north of Piedmont his wagon was struck by a car. The force the smash threw Beatty to the ground where he struck his head, causing the fracture of the main vertabra in his neck. He had been a resident of Piedmont for five years." He was born to Robert Beatty and Lucia LeSpear Beatty, and was the ninth of eleven children in the family. He married Edith Braga 12 Sept 1911, they moved to Meade County about 1921. They had six children, Elvira married Richard Stoll, Daniel, Barbara married Lisle Owens, Nellie married ist Lloyd McKay and second Wilbur Bishop, Frances, and Estella married John Crowley.
