Description	:	LOUP CITY - Francis L. Lehnart, 81, of Loup City, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City with Rev. Curtis W. Roberts officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 48 of Loup CIty. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Peters Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested at the family's choice. Mr. Lehnert was born July 6, 1915 in Lacomb, Alberta, Canada to Frank and Ora (Schafer) Lehnert. As a small child, he moved with his mother to Dannebrog, where he attended the Dannebrog Public Schools. After complete his education, Mr. Lehnert worked as a farmhand for area farmers. He later moved to Oregon. Mr. Lehnert served in the United States Army from May 1942 to January 1946. After being discharged, he farmed in the Moses Lake area of Washington. Mr. Lehnert moved to Loup City in 1950, where he operated the Standard Service Station. He married Doris V. Lybarger on July 13, 1957, at Loup City. Mr. Lehnert worked for the Phillips 66 Service Station for 26 years. He later worked for the House of Meats in Loup City and later as a maintenance worker at the Westside Park in Loup City, where the couple later resided. Mr. Lehnart was a member of the Grace Bible Church of Loup City, where he served as deacon. He also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 48 and VFW both of Loup City. Survivors at time of death include his wife, Doris of Loup CIty; a son, Alden of Franklin; and a brother, Ed of Falls City, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence, and three sisters, Velma Davey, Violet Hammond and Leila Middleton. The Grand Island Independent - Mon, Feb 17 1997, Pg 9A
