Description	:	OBITUARY - 5 Dec 1957 Francis Marion Hamilton, son of Samuel M. and Hannah Kizzire Hamilton, was born July 28, 1872, three miles east of Davis City, Iowa. He passed away at the Decatur County Hospital on November 25, 1957, at the age of 84 years, three months, and 27 days. He was the last member of a family of seven children. Read More	OBITUARY - 5 Dec 1957 Francis Marion Hamilton, son of Samuel M. and Hannah Kizzire Hamilton, was born July 28, 1872, three miles east of Davis City, Iowa. He passed away at the Decatur County Hospital on November 25, 1957, at the age of 84 years, three months, and 27 days. He was the last member of a family of seven children. His grandparents were among the first settlers in Decatur County, coming from Tennessee. On February 3, 1895, he was united in marriage to Estella Sarah Keller. To this union five children were born, Neil of Omaha, Nebraska; Zula Downey of Davis City; Willard, who preceded his father in death July 27, 1931; Paul of Port Huron, Michigan; and Arthur of Hugoton, Kansas. France, as he was known to his friends, spent his entire life in and near Davis City. In 1942 he retired from farming and moved into Davis City, where he spent the rest of his life. Since April 1952 he had been in poor health due to heart ailments. He bore his suffering with great patience, never complaining and always grateful to those who helped relieve his suffering. He was a loving husband and father, devoted to his family. He was happiest when his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were near. He is survived by his companion of 62 years, four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Brick Church in Davis City on Friday, November 29. Burial was in the West cemetery in Davis City.
