Clark, who passed to eternal rest last Friday, were held on Sunday afternoon, at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bucknell, of Madison, officiating. For the past year and a half, Mrs Clark has been confined to her bed most of the time, as a result of a fall which fractured one of her hips. Mrs. Clark, affectionately called "Grandmother" by all those fortunate enough to have been her friend, was the last Civil War Veteran's widow living in the Creston community. During the later part of her life, she delighted in making quilts, completing over one hundred in intricate patterns. She explained that when one is tired there is something soothing in matching together harmonizing colors. Each of her children and her grandchildren has one or more of her lovely quilts. During the recent years when she was unable to sew or to read and since her fall when she became nearly bedfast, her continual cheerfulness and fortitude has been symbolical of her outlook on life. It was a pleasure to stop by her bedside and visit for a while, her happiness and good cheer being radiated to her visitors. After Mrs. Clark's accident there was never a day when her room was without flowers, the gifts of those who loved her. Francis Roxanna Westcott as born in Oneida County, N.Y., October 11, 1845, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.F. Stevens, at Creston, August 2, 1935 at the age of 89 years, eight months and 21 days. Early in life she moved with her family to Ottawa, Ill. At the close of the Civil War she was united in marriage to Darwin I Clark. They made their first home at Shelby, IA., moving to their homestead four miles south of Creston in 1879. Creston has been her home most of the time for the past 56 years. Mr. Clark passed away in 1920. To this union seven children were born; two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Simonton and Mrs. Stark Inghram preceeding her in death. Those who survive are Mrs. Wm. Dean, Portland, Ore; Mrs. Elton Bumgardner, Salem, Ore; G.D. Clark and Mrs. T.F. Stevens, Creston, and H.L. Clark, Albion. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Salmon, Portland, Ore; Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, Columbus, and one brother , Ed Westcott, Sidney, Mon; also survives. There are 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Presbyterian Church guild, Kensington, and Degree of Honor Lodge. In pioneer days, as well as during later life, she gave freely of her time and energy to religious and civic interests. She was doctor, nurse,advisor and friend to all,. Her passing brings to a close a life of truly Christian activity, the watchword of which was ever - helpfulness. A mixed quartette, Mrs. Elmer Graham, Mrs. W.J. Ritter, Frank Fleming and Arthur Anson sang several of Mrs. Clark's favorite hymns, "In the Garden", "No Night There", "The Old Rugged Cross", and "Face to Face". The Pallbearers were Ted Stevens, Ellis Stevens, Harold Stevens, L. Vern Clark, Ray Clark and Newell Westcott. Those who came from a distance to attend the services were, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Clark and family, Mr. and Mrs Clyde Clark and family and F.F. Clark, of Albion; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clark, Otis Clark and Hazel Clark of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Westcott, Mr and Mrs Del Westcott, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Westcott and Mrs. L.P. Westcott, Myron Westcott, Mr. And Mrs. Harold Stevens, Mrs. Earl Ludwick, Miss Irene Good, Mrs. Florence Wilson, James Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Ore Nichols and family, all of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Pruitt, Mrs. Henry Knight, Mrs. Sherm Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bender and Mrs. Frank Conway, of Humphrey; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zacek and family, Lindsay; and Mr and Mrs. LaVern Clark and Elizabeth Ann and Lois and Ilene Luedtke, of Ames, Ia. ++++++ Obituary Last civil war widow at Creston, whose death occurred early Friday morning, were held at 2 p.m. yesterday at the Presbyterian church in Creston. Rev. Powell of Madison, had charge of the services, and burial was made in the cemetery near Creston. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Ted Stevens of Creston; L.M. Clark of Ames, Ia; Ray Clark of Albion, Neb; Harold Stevens and E.A. Stevens of Omaha; and Newell Westcott of Creston. Those from out-of-town attending the services were James Adams, Beal Nichols and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Westcott and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Westcott, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Westcott, Mrs. L.P. Westcott, Mrs. Earl Ludwig and daughter and Miss Irene Good, all of Omaha; Mrs. and Mrs Herbert Clark and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cark and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clark and family, all of Albion; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clark, Mr. and Mrs, Otis Clark and Miss Hazel Clark, all of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Wade Pruitt, Mr. and Mrs. H.
