Description	:	Frank Ceon Larkins, son of Emery and Alta Randel (sic) Larkins was born November 18, 1898 at rural Republic County, Kansas and passed away on August 21, 1996 at his home in Chester, Nebraska, at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 3 days. Read More	Frank Ceon Larkins, son of Emery and Alta Randel (sic) Larkins was born November 18, 1898 at rural Republic County, Kansas and passed away on August 21, 1996 at his home in Chester, Nebraska, at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 3 days. Frank received his education the rural schools in Republic County, Kansas and took the farmers short course at Kansas State University. He was united in marriage to Florence Emma Eickmann September 9, 1919 and to this union four children were born, Jean, Max, Howard and Pauline. Frank lived and farmed 56 years within a mile of where he was born. He was a farmer and stockman and owner and manager of Larkins Oil Company for 26 years. They were honored as fifty year shippers to the Union Stockyards in Omaha. After attending Liberty Center Sunday School for a number of years, the family started attending the Methodist Church in Chester, NE, in 1932 and Frank joined the church at that time. He held various offices in the church and enjoyed being a member of the choir for over 50 years. His family was of primary importance to him. He loved taking the grandchildren fishing and had the utmost patience with them. It is hard to talk about Frank without also talking about Florence. Their marriage spanned 74 years. They endured some difficult times together and yet were able to provide adequately for their family. They moved to Chester in 1954 and enjoyed taking tours and spending some winters in Texas and Arizona. In later years he enjoyed going to the farm everyday and helping as needed but always saved two afternoons a week to visit friends in the nursing homes as long as he was able. Frank lived his life to the fullest, helping many people in time of need along the way. He set a good example for his family and no doubt for others he associated with. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Alta Larkins; wife, Florence E. Larkins; grandsons, Larry Larkins, Curtis Larkins, Darrell Larkins; two daughters-in-law, Lois Nisley Larkins, and Ethel Moxham Larkins, and two sisters, Mable Whitman and Ethel Pederson. Frank is survived by three sons, Jean Larkins and wife Iris, Chester, NE; Max Larkins and wife Evelyn, rural Belleville, KS, Howard Larkins and his wife Ruby of Concordia, KS; one daughter, Pauline Frye and her husband Dolan, Chester; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, one niece, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 24, 1996 at eleven a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Chester, NE, conducted by Rev. T.J. Fraser. Organist was Mrs. T.J. Fraser and singers Mrs. Jack Long and Mrs. Everett Roop. Casket bearers Rodney Larkins, Blake Larkins, Jim Larkins, Kenneth Larkins, Jan Frye, Eric Malstead, Brian Larkins, Casey Larkins, Duane Larkins, Dale Larkins, Jon Frye, Jeremy Williams and Cory Williams. Interment was made at the Chester Cemetery.
