Description	:	Mabel Elsie (Larkins) Whitman, daughter of Emery C. and Alta Randall Larkins was born on January 30, 1891 in Republic County, Kansas and passed away on February 16, 1982, at Capistrano Beach, California at the age of 91 years and 16 days. She attended the Chester Public Schools and received her Normal Teacher's Training at Belleville, Kansas. She taught school in Republic and Thayer counties schools for four years. She was united in marriage to Reginald J. Whitman on March 23, of 1913 and to this union five sons were born, Ben. J., Harry, Claude, Paul and Robert J. Mable... She was united in marriage to Reginald J. Whitman on March 23, of 1913 and to this union five sons were born, Ben. J., Harry, Claude, Paul and Robert J. Mable (sic) spent all of her married life in Republic County and moved to California in 1952 after the passing of her husband, Reginald. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Robert J., her husband, Reginald. She is survived by four sons, Ben of Huntington Beach, Calif., Harry of Laguna Beach, Calif., Claude of Crete, Nebr., Paul of San Marcos, Calif., one brother Frank Larkins of Chester, Nebr., one sister, Mrs. Ethel Pedersen of Brush, Colo., nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services were conducted on Monday, February 22, 1982 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebraska, conducted by Pastor Lacey, Joiner. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery.
