Mr. Peterson was married to Mame DoBoer, December 28, 1898. Four children were born from this union. Those surviving are Mrs. Gladys Murrell and Wayne of Fairmont and Mrs. Lucille Barkmeier of Exeter. A daughter, Irene preceded him in death. Read More	Frank Edward Peterson was born on the Peterson homestead northeast of Fairmont, Neb., June 7, 1874. He died April 15, 1940, of bronchial pneumonia after an illness of four days. Mr. Peterson was married to Mame DoBoer, December 28, 1898. Four children were born from this union. Those surviving are Mrs. Gladys Murrell and Wayne of Fairmont and Mrs. Lucille Barkmeier of Exeter. A daughter, Irene preceded him in death. Mr. Peterson united with the local Grace Methodist Church years ago under the pastorate of Rev. John Gallagher. His membership has been held in the same church throughout the intervening years. He served as police magistrate of Fairmont the past several years. At the time of his death he was employed to carry the mail from the trains to the post office. Mr. Peterson was for many years connected with the tree nursery industry. He took pride in keeping his own home landscaped and beautiful. Most of his spare time was thus spent. He enjoyed the companionship of his friends and many of his cronies were to be found visiting at his place of business everyday. But after business hours he enjoyed most being at home with his family. the member of his family and friends alike will miss this quiet, unassuming man. Such characters silently build themselves into our lives and we do not recognize how much they mean to us until they are with us no more. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mame, their two daughters and one son, two grandsons, Lester and Derald Murrell, two granddaughters, Barbara and Suzanne Berkmeir, and two brothers, Oscar Peterson of Long Beach, Cal., and Albert Peterson of Hastings, Neb. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 18, at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Robert L. Embree, in charge, and assisted by Mr. Peterson's next door neighbor, Rev. O. H. Albertson. Music was provided by a mixed quartet, Mrs. Charles Little, Mrs. Ross Dorrance, Oliver Moul and W. E. Black with Mrs. Mabel Quinian at the piano. Pallbearers were Harry Bergstrand, Ross Dorrance, Gaylord Philson, Francis Schepers, A. P. Stewart and George White. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
