Gene Pittenger was born in Alvasta, Iowa, on June 17, 1878 and his age at the time of death was 57 years 10 months and 4 days. He came to Wadena County, Minn., in 1895, and moved to North Dakota in 1906. He married Ida Christina Dahl who with ten children are left to mourn his death. They are Clifford of Binford, Helmer of Cooperstown, Leland, Dorothy, Vivian, Selma and Marvel, all at home. Mrs. Thelma Hubert and Mrs. Ethel Hubert of Sacred Heart, Minn. and Monroe of Granite Falls, Minn. besides these sorrowed relatives he leaves his aged mother of Aberdeen, S. D., two brothers, Robert of Binford and Jay in Aberdeen, and one sister, Mrs. Robert Foster of Chicago. He also leaves four grandchildren in Binford; Marie, Elaine, Lyla and Barbara Pittenger. His father, one sister and one brother preceded him in death. Published in the Griggs County Sentinel-Courier, Cooperstown, North Dakota, April 30, 1936.
