SINEK Frank J. Sinek was born Sept. 8, 1866, and died October 15, 1924, at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 7 days. He came to America with his parents when but a year old and to Pocahontas county in 1880, at the age of 14 years, and his lived in this vicinity for forty years, spending most of his time on his farm east of town. About three weeks ago Mr. Sinek had a carbuncle started on the back of his neck, but it was not thought to be very serious, however, the trouble grew to such an extent that Dr. Riordon called Dr. Evans of Ft. Dodge for consultation, a trained nurse was obtained and Father Wagener was called to his bedside. All that could be done, with his loved ones around him, was done, but the Lord willed differently and called him to his reward. He suffered intensely from his trouble. He was also troubled with diabetes which complicated matters and, no doubt, hastened his death. On Oct. 7th, 1888, he was married to Mary J. Dady, to which union seven children were born, one dying in infancy. Those living are Florence Beneke of Gilmore City, Leon of Rolfe, Veronica Harrison of Pocahontas, John of Emmetsburg, Roy and James at home. He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and family, his aged mother, two brothers, Joseph and James of Pocahontas, and four grand children, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Sinek was a kind and loving husband and father and one of our most respected and successful citizens. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 17, at 9 o'clock, at the Sacred Heart church and interment was made in Calvary cemetery at Pocahontas. We miss thee, O father, O when do we not. Though we know 'twas the wisdom of heaven, That the deepest shade fell on the sunniest spot, And such ties of affection are riven. Sleep on, dearest father, take thy rest, God called thee home, He thought it best. Wife and children, weep no more, He has answered the call of Eternal. Weep not that his toils are over, Weep not that his race is run. God grant we may act as calmly, When our work, like his, is done.
