McDonald died very suddenly last Thursday, May 26th (sic. May 27 per headstone inscription), in Denver, Colo. He had been in his usual health. However, about noon on this date he was taken with hemorrhage of the lungs and died within an hour afterward. On receipt of the news, his sister, Miss Flo McDonald and his son, Walter, immediately left for Denver. They returned Monday bringing the remains here for burial. About six weeks ago he was here making a visit in his childhood home, and the news of his death came as a fearful shock to his family. Deceased was a son of Mrs. Mary McDonald and the late Dan'l McDonald. He was born in Fairfield in 1857 and grew to manhood here, and for a number of years was in the employ of the C.,B. & Q. railway company. He leaves one son, Walter McDonald, his mother, sisters and brother to mourn his untimely demise. The sympathy of many friends is extended the sorrowing ones. Funeral services were held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Mary McDonald, East Broadway, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Miller, of the Baptist church, assisted by Rev. Spelman of the Congregational church. The remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery (sic. Old Fairfield City cemetery; they are adjacent but separate cemeteries and often their names were used in place of each other in obituary and death records.) ---------- "Fairfield Ledger", June 1, 1904, Pg. 6, Col. 5 DIED IN DENVER. Frank M. McDONALD, who was born and grew to manhood in this city, died very suddenly in Denver, Col., Thurs. from hemorrhage of the lungs. He was a son of the late Daniel McDONALD and was 47 years of age May 17. Mr. McDONALD left Fairfield about 25 years ago and had spent most of that time in the employ of western railways. He was married a year or so after he went west and leaves one son, Walter W. McDONALD of this city. Mr. McD. had many friends in this city... The body was brought to this city Monday and funeral services were held at the McD. home Tuesday afternoon....
