NELSON was born June 10, 1867, in Salina. He is survived by his wife; two children, Rollie and Berl (sic. Verl); three step-children, Mrs. BOYER of Wellman, V.J. DROZ and Glen E. DROZ of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, L.J. NELSON of Fairfield and Harvey NELSON of Pontiac, Mich. One brother, Victor NELSON, preceded him in death. --------- Note: Arthur Chester Nelson and Frank Nelson were killed in a single vehicle accident in Lockridge, Iowa. Arthur is buried in Evergreen Cemetery while Frank is buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, both cemeteries in Fairfield. The Fairfield Daily Ledger published an extensive account of the vehicle accident that claimed the lives of Frank Nelson and Arthur Chester Nelson. It was published on the front page - Wednesday, October 30, 1940. The narrative is too graphic for use on this memorial, but the first paragraph did state that Frank Nelson was aged 73, and "A.C. Nelson" was aged 55. The closing paragraph noted their employment status: "A. C. Nelson was the proprietor of Nelson's Place on the south side of the square. Frank Nelson, well drilling contractor." Although both men shared the last name of "Nelson", this contributor has not found any direct family link between them. While Arthur Chester Nelson did have a son named Frank, that son was born in/about 1921 and is NOT the same as this Frank Oscar Nelson. Note: Frank was married twice, first to Vesta Elizabeth BATES on October 27, 1892 in Lockridge, Jefferson county, Iowa, and second to Anna Elizabeth BRUEY DROZ. Vesta is buried in Salina Cemetery, Anna is buried with Frank in Memorial Lawn.
