Read More	Fairfield Ledger January 2, 1901 Death of Frank S. GAGE. Frank Sumner GAGE, whose critical illness from paralysis has been noted in THE LEDGER, died in this city Thursday morning. He was first stricken with the disease about a year ago, and suffered three attacks, the last on the 24th inst. Mr. GAGE was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Cranmore W. GAGE of this city. He was born in Fairfield October 9th, 1856, and lived here until 1871, when he entered the service of the Rock Island Railroad company as telegraph operator at Edgerton, Mo. He was engaged in railroad work for nearly twenty-five years following that period, and held many responsible positions in Iowa, Missouri, Texas and others of the western states. Four years ago he began the study of medicine at Kirksville, Mo., and completed a two years' course in osteopathy. He opened offices for the practice of his profession in Chicago, but was compelled to return to Texas, where he had lived for several years, because of ill health. Since that time he has suffered almost continuously from disease, and finally relinquished all business cares and came to the home of his parents in this city, where he passed away. He was married April 12, 1888, to Miss Mathilida E. KELNER, who survives him. Mr. GAGE was as active and energetic man when in good health, soon acquired proficiency in whatever he undertook, and while in the employ of various railway companies commanded the esteem of his superiors and the friendship of those who were associated with him. There are many of his old boyhood friends in this city who will sincerely mourn his death as the loss of a most excellent and useful man. The remains were interred in this city Friday afternoon. Mr. GAGE was a Knight Templar, and Gethsemane commandery of the city had charge of the funeral. Rev. H. O. Spellman conducted the usual religious services. -------- "Fairfield Ledger", April 18, 1888, Pg. 2, Col. 4 Frank S. GAGE, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. GAGE and a young gentleman reared in Fairfield and having a wide acquaintance here, visited friends in this city several days last week. He was accompanied by his bride, formerly Miss Millie E. KELLNER of Chicago, their marriage occurring in that city on the 12th inst.. Mr. and Mrs. GAGE left last evening for Baird, Texas, their future home, where the former has charge of the business of the Texas & Pacific railroad, a company in whose employ he has been for some time.....
